The real challenge for the player will be when the zombie AI gets an upgrade. On a shipping container, nurse zombies will cause a lot of problems for a anyone hiding. On a crate, they'd already be able to hit your ankles. If balance is so important, the average zombies don't need to be made tougher. That's why the "elite" zombie types are so terrifying. Who cares if can climb a container to evade them, if they surround you and you can't get down? The whole Zombie trope is about humans needing to be smarter, quicker and more resourceful than the Zed. They don't need to climb and jump, they just keep coming. Zombies, typically, are understood to be (somewhat) stupid and possibly frail by themselves, but unrelenting and devastating as a horde. You've got to remember this is a game against *zombies*. Watching a older video where u added a toxic creepy cab-a-patch girl zombie able to puck blowy toxic gas.Īnyway love seeing the how the game is going sofar and the cartoony look.Īn (at least basic) jump/climb function is absolutely needed and it's incredibly frustrating that it doesn't already exist. with having the ablity to jump/ grab you could open so many areas up into the game with this option. since this is a early acc game things like climbing zombies would slowly be added i think. a good work around i can think even more so in later parts of the game is have zombies have a way to ether puck at u or take its arm off and throw at u. since they have basic control and is dead so there limbs will have no ablit to. in all honesty, having a jump is always a need to, but i see no risen why or how a zombie would even be able to do this from the start. But I’m thinking of realizing a weak jump, just so that sometimes players can get out when they get stuck in textures or indentations that I didn’t take into account. Instead of jump, why not some sort of action(like the one to climb the train) to climb some obstacles like crates, fences, etc?īut hey, might be a reason why it isn't implemented, since it's not exactly hard to code a y-axis increase bound to spacebar after all =D Hello! The problem with entering a jump is that you need to implement the ability for zombies to climb after the player, and here there are technical difficulties and they will be even more complicated when the mode of randomly generated locations is implemented, so I still do not plan normal jumps. Though I don't know whether this would break the pathfinding of the zombies, I think jumping is pretty much a necessary thing in survival games, since it lets you avoid damage from hordes by jumping onto boxes, buildings, etc.īut hey, might be a reason why it isn't implemented, since it's not exactly hard to code a y-axis increase bound to spacebar after all =D Hello! Doing this would allow the player to kite zombies to crates with barrel stacks to climb up then stab them in the face safely without getting munched on. I believe this game would become far more mobile if the dodge key was set to perhaps alt and a jump was implemented.
